Shiro-Iro” Silk Dial

The defining feature of the SPB463J1 is its convex, dome-shaped dial. The material is finely grained, based on the natural color of unbleached raw silk fabric called Shiro-Iro. Ambient light around the surface of the complex is captured in such a way that it gives a sense of depth and an ever-changing play of shadow against the curved surface, which is often hard to depict in photographs. The case (40.2mm) and bracelet are both made of stainless steel to give the dial a grounding element to keep the piece elegant. Seiko also uses their own Super-Hard Coating on the case to provide extra anti-scratch protection. The lugs taper down to give a flush fit against the wrist without any jarring edges or facets. It is paired with a new 7 link stainless bracelet, designed in a retro fashion. Its curved top surfaces and short links allow it to be extremely comfortable and yet not look too showy.
